Inauguration of Renovated Drinking Water Facility by Prerna Sewa Trust at Hamidia Hospital Premises
Bhopal, April 30 – A noble initiative was undertaken by Prerna Sewa Trust with the inauguration of a newly renovated drinking water facility (pyau) near the temple located within the premises of Hamidia Hospital, under Gandhi Medical College. This pyau was originally constructed in the cherished memory of Late Shri Krishan Lal Chugh Ji by his devoted wife, Smt. Suhagvanti Chugh Ji. However, the facility had remained non-functional for several years due to lack of maintenance and operational challenges.
Recognizing the pressing need for access to clean and cold drinking water, especially during the scorching summer months, Prerna Sewa Trust undertook the complete renovation of the pyau. A modern cold-water dispensing machine was installed on April 9, commemorating the birth anniversary of Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, the courageous son of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who sacrificed his life for righteousness. The formal inauguration of the upgraded facility was held on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, symbolizing prosperity and service.

The ceremony was led by Mrs. Rashmi Baba, Chairperson of Prerna Sewa Trust. The newly equipped pyau now provides purified and chilled water to a large number of people visiting Hamidia Hospital — including patients, their attendants, visitors to the outpatient department, passersby, and nearby shopkeepers. This thoughtful initiative is a timely and commendable effort to provide much-needed relief to the public during intense summer heatwaves.
The facility will be managed and maintained on a regular basis by Prerna Sewa Trust to ensure continuous service to the community.
Distinguished individuals who graced the occasion included Shri Shiv Mangal Singh Ji (former judge), Shri Kanhaiya Lal Godani, Shri Shiv Mohan Mathur, Shri Pramod Chugh, Smt. Anchal Mathur, Sardar Jagjeet Singh, and Shri Shyam Saran Agrawal, along with many other esteemed citizens of Bhopal.
This initiative stands not only as a symbol of social responsibility and public welfare but also as a meaningful tribute to the legacy of Baba Jujhar Singh Ji. Through this act of community service, his memory is being honored and kept alive in a truly impactful and inspiring way.
