Prerna Sewa Trust: 30 Years of Dedicated Service at Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal

Located in the premises of Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal, Prerna Sewa Trust has been selflessly serving the underprivileged and patients for over three decades. Established with a mission of compassion, the Trust extends a wide range of support services to patients and their attendants, easing their physical and emotional burdens during medical treatment.

The assistance provided includes nutritious meals twice a day, tea and snacks, clean clothing, essential medicines, diagnostic tests, wheelchairs, walkers, and warm blankets. Beyond this, the Trust also provides freshly prepared porridge (daliya), khichdi, and milk for patients, with proper arrangements for heating. Clean and safe drinking water—both hot and cold—is available throughout the day to ensure comfort and hydration for visitors, especially during extreme weather conditions.

An ambulance service is available to transport patients or deceased individuals to their homes upon discharge, offering dignity and support in critical moments. In addition, the Trust regularly supplies vital medical equipment—such as wheelchairs, stretchers, surgical steel drums, and coolers—to the hospital based on periodic requests from the Hamidia administration.

This year, in appreciation of their cooperation, the Trust honored Hamidia Hospital’s Assistant Superintendents, Dr. Vijay Verma and Dr. Jeevan Lal Meena, during a special ceremony. Air coolers were donated to the hospital to improve patient comfort during the intense summer heat.

The assistant superintendents visited the Trust campus and observed the range of services being provided. They appreciated the Trust’s ongoing commitment and learned about its operational model. The Trust also shared that it regularly provides wheelchairs, medical aid, tests, and medicines upon recommendations from hospital authorities.

In cases where patients are found to have no accompanying attendant or family member, the Trust assumes responsibility for their care—ensuring no one is left neglected during treatment.

The event was graced by the Trust’s Patron Mrs. Prakash Kaur Khanuja, President Mrs. Rashmi Baba, Treasurer Mr. Vijay Kumar Jain, former Judge Shri Shiv Mangal Singh, and several other dedicated members. The program was ably conducted by Shri Shiv Mohan Mathur, a committed member of the Trust.

Through these efforts, Prerna Sewa Trust continues to uphold its legacy of humanitarian service, becoming a beacon of hope and compassion for countless families in need.
